Earthquake struck Taiwan

 

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck eastern Taiwan at 10:38 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, as reported by the Central Weather Administration (CWA). The quake’s epicenter was located 9.8 km south of Hualien County Hall, with a focal depth of 30.5 km.
According to the intensity scale used in Taiwan (ranging from 1 to 7), the earthquake was felt with the following intensities:

  • Intensity 4 in Hualien
  • Intensity 3 in Nantou County, Changhua County, Yilan County, Yunlin County, and Chiayi County
  • Intensity 2 in Taichung, Taitung County, Miaoli County, Hsinchu County, Chiayi, and Tainan
  • Intensity 1 in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Kaohsiung, New Taipei, and Pingtung County

As of the latest reports, no injuries or significant damage have been reported.
